What is a Pay Agent?
A Pay Agent is an authorized retailer that accepts Duke Energy payments. Upon receipt of a payment, the cashier enters the billing details into the data terminal and promptly provides a receipt of the transaction. It's that easy and there is no fee for using this service. Use the map of NC and SC to find information on all of Duke Energy's authorized Pay Agents. This sign or a similar version containing the Duke Energy logo will be displayed at all authorized payment locations.
What is a Non-Authorized Pay Agent?
A non-authorized Pay Agent (Pay Station) has no integration with Duke Energy and is not paid for by Duke Energy. Non-authorized Pay Agents generally charge the customer a fee for the payment transaction while authorized Pay Agents do not charge a fee. Customers need to be aware that it may take up to five days for Duke Energy to receive payments from non-authorized Pay Agents. Duke Energy recommends customers only use the Duke Energy authorized Pay Agents.
