Annually, we hire over 300 veterans.
We have an internal veteran-network group with over 450 members that mentors new hires, helps veterans adjust to Duke Energy's culture and eases the transition to civilian life called "Together We Stand."
We provide 120 hours of annual military leave with full pay for National Guard and Reserve members.
We are partnered with Enable America, Hiring our Heros and NC 4 Me, which provides training and job placement assistance for veterans.
We empower our employees to be leaders. We have a dedicated learning and development program, The Duke Energy Leadership Academy, that provides tools and resources to grow our employees professionally.

We give back and build relationships by volunteering in our local communities, our veteran employees continue to serve when they join Duke Energy.We target specific community initiatives that generate long-term, large-scale impact.

We have awarded more than a half million dollars to more than 15 nonprofit organizations providing assistance to veterans and their families in all seven states served by the company. These organizations received a grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to strengthen programs providing essential services to veterans and military families.
