No, Budget Billing looks at the last 12 months of usage and then divides by 11 to give you a monthly amount (annual Budget Bill Plan). If last year's weather is significantly different than this year’s weather, you could be in for a big settle-up amount. Your FixedBill looks at your past energy usage patterns and compares them against historical weather conditions to determine a monthly payment amount. You pay the same amount for 12 months with no settle-up, regardless of what the weather is like.

Renewal is automatic in the Your FixedBill program. At the end of your 12-month contract period, you'll receive a renewal letter that includes your new monthly payment amount. There's no true-up settlement or deferred amount to pay. Should you wish to be removed from the program, be sure to contact us before the date indicated in your renewal letter.

The Your FixedBill monthly bill amount is calculated by applying your expected usage and prices with a program fee not to exceed 7.5%. Expected usage is calculated by analyzing your past usage patterns and applying them to average weather for each month. A consumption adder (for the first year) is added to the expected monthly kWh, forecasted rates and riders are applied, and a risk premium is also applied to arrive at the final monthly Your FixedBill quote. Taxes are applied to your quote separately.

Your FixedBill has no settle-up fee. That means regardless of how the weather behaves, you pay the same amount every month. Twelve months. One price. No surprises.

If you are not satisfied with the program, you may cancel prior to the end of the 12-month agreement. However, you will be charged applicable removal charges in addition to being charged the difference between what you paid on Your FixedBill and what you would have paid under the standard rate schedule.

Residential customers who have lived in their current residence for at least the previous 12 months, have 12 months of actual meter reads and are able to be modeled with reasonable predictability. Eligible customers must be in good standing with their Duke Energy Florida electric service bill.

The program fee is necessary to cover Duke Energy's risk of fixing the bill for 12 months. The premium helps offset unexpected weather extremes during the contract period, changes in prices, and excessively altered customer usage patterns. The Your FixedBill program fee will not exceed 7.5% of your expected usage, adjusted for normal weather.
