The EnergyExplorium will be closed Dec. 22, 2024 through Jan. 6, 2025. We will reopen on Jan. 7, 2025.

The EnergyExplorium is located at McGuire Nuclear Station in Huntersville, N.C. and open by appointment only, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (excluding holidays).
The EnergyExplorium is a popular destination for middle and high school students, civic groups and anyone who is interested in learning about nuclear energy and Lake Norman. It's also an ideal destination for local school field trips and unique gatherings.
The EnergyExplorium is open by appointment only Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Group sizes are limited to 40 people and everyone is required to make an appointment.
2025 appointments will be available for scheduling beginning Jan. 14, 2024. Please send inquiries to energyexplorium@duke-energy.com.
