New Time-of-Use Rates for Indiana Customers
Duke Energy is adjusting the company’s time-of-use (TOU) periods to better align with electricity usage patterns on the energy grid and to enhance customer benefits. We’ve restructured the TOU rate design, which includes adding a new discount period, shortening the on-peak period and making rates more consistent throughout the year.
Time-of-Use Periods
The chart and clock graphics below show the different time-of-use periods and how they work. Note, during the new discount period, rates are lower than those during both the on-peak and off-peak periods. Shifting energy use to the discount period may lead to cost savings for customers.
