Demand Response Business

Demand Response
Earn incentives and help your community during peak electricity demand.
Shift energy use. Get rewards.
Demand response is a way that together, we can respond to times of unusually high demand for energy.
These programs are designed to help manage electricity demand by shifting energy use away from peak times, usually during extreme hot or cold weather. We notify customers when a peak time is coming, so you can temporarily reduce your usage. This helps the whole community by easing stress on the energy grid to maintain reliability – and it benefits your bottom line with monetary incentives.

How can your business help?
To help reduce strain on the energy grid, you can either temporarily lower your power consumption or shift to alternative power sources for the handful of hours each year that demand response is needed.Usually, customers reduce energy use during times of peak demand by either shutting down equipment or reducing load. In large businesses, this can entail temporarily shutting down larger equipment or shifting the times that equipment is used. In smaller businesses, some customers adjust thermostats, turn off nonessential lighting, change industrial freezer settings, and cycle off water pumps. We also have programs that can make subtle shifts to thermostats or other equipment automatically.
Demand Response is great for:
Manufacturers
Data centers
Hospitals
Grocery stores/Retail
Schools and universities
Commercial buildings

How do these programs work?
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll notify you in advance of a demand response “event.” (That’s what we call the block of time when we’d like you to reduce energy use.) We’ll give you as much advance notice as possible. That way, you’re prepared to shift energy use, help protect the grid, benefit your community and earn valuable incentives.
