Your FixedBill

Duke Energy Florida residential customers who have:

• lived in their current residence for at least 12 months
• 12 months of actual electric meter reads
• a predictable energy use profile
• good standing on their Duke Energy electric bill

Your FixedBill isn't designed to give you the lowest annual price or save you money. Rather, it's a simple way we can help you manage your budget and protect you against unpredictable bill surges driven by weather.

The Your FixedBill monthly bill amount is calculated by applying your expected energy usage and current energy prices with a program premium.

• Expected energy usage is calculated by analyzing your past usage patterns and applying them to average weather for each month.
• The program premium will not exceed 12% of your expected energy usage in normal weather. That premium drops to 6% after the first year.

Both programs offer a fixed monthly bill with no adjustments or year-end balance due. However, there are some distinct differences in the two programs.

Your FixedBill

• Does not require a specific HVAC system or smart thermostat enrollment
• Your FixedBill includes a slightly higher program premium than My Energy Bill+
• The program premium will not exceed 12% of your expected usage for the first year. The premium drops to 6% after the first year on the program.

My Energy Bill+

• Requires that you have whole-home centrally controlled electric HVAC system
• Requires that you enroll your smart thermostat(s), which allows us to make brief adjustments to the thermostat temperature during limited times when demand for electricity is unusually high
• Offers a lower overall program premium than Your FixedBill
• The My Energy Bill+ program premium will not exceed 10% of your expected usage for the first year. The premium drops to 4% after the first year on the program.

Your FixedBill gives you the same energy bill for an entire year. There are no surprise bill adjustments and never an additional balance due at the end of the year. Your FixedBill includes a program premium not to exceed 12% of your expected usage. The premium drops to 6% after the first year.

Budget Billing offers two plan options. With the Quarterly Plan, bills are adjusted quarterly to keep payments in line with actual usage. With the Annual Plan, bills are the same for 12 months with a year-end settle up. There is no program premium with Budget Billing.

The program premium covers Duke Energy's risk of fixing the bill for 12 months. The premium helps offset unexpected weather extremes, changes in energy prices, and drastic changes in energy use. The Your FixedBill program premium will not exceed 12% of your expected energy use in normal weather during the first year. After the first year, the program premium will not exceed 6%.

If you leave Your FixedBill before the end of your 12-month agreement, you will be charged any difference between what you paid on Your FixedBill and what you would have paid on the regular electric rate. We will not refund any difference if there is an amount due to you.

If you decide later that you'd like to re-enroll in Your FixedBill, you can do so 12 months after you unenroll, provided you are still eligible for the program.

Renewal in Your FixedBill is automatic. At the end of your 12-month contract, you'll receive a renewal letter that includes your new monthly payment amount. There's no true-up settlement or deferred amount to pay. If you want to be removed from the program, be sure to contact us before the date indicated in your renewal letter.

Yes, your energy usage will continue to appear on your monthly bills.

Your FixedBill amount does not include applicable state and local fees, taxes and other Duke Energy products and services – such as outdoor lighting. These costs are applied to your bill separately and are the same taxes and fees that you currently pay on your Duke Energy bill.
