Bob Ringel is vice president, HR legal support, chief ethics officer and assistant corporate secretary for Duke Energy. He is responsible for legal issues relating to human resources matters, including the company’s executive compensation and employee benefits programs, labor and employment matters, as well as other employee matters. He has served as HR legal support and assistant corporate secretary since December 2006. He assumed the role of chief ethics officer in March 2024, where he leads Duke Energy’s ethics program, which fosters an accountable, transparent and ethical culture that advances the overall objectives of Duke Energy.
From 2001 to 2004, he was a partner and associate at the law firm of Thompson Hine in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he also practiced in the executive compensation and employee benefits area. Prior to his employment with Thompson Hine, he was an associate with the law firm of Jones, Day in Cleveland, Ohio.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University, a Juris Doctor from Ohio State University, and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in taxation from New York University.
