Harry Sideris is president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy, one of the nation’s largest energy holding companies. Under Sideris’ leadership, Duke Energy is focused on critical infrastructure investments that meet historic load growth, provide superior service to customers and communities, and maintain safety and operational excellence.  

Sideris oversees one of the largest regulated capital plans in the industry, supporting energy modernization that delivers value for Duke Energy’s customers and shareholders, advances the nation’s growth and economic development aspirations and makes progress on the company’s climate goals. Duke Energy is executing a diverse generation strategy, adding natural gas assets to its portfolio, extending the life of its nuclear plants, modernizing the energy grid, advocating for new dispatchable technologies, and adding new renewables and energy storage while collaborating with stakeholders and policymakers to advance supportive energy policy.  

Duke Energy has paid a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock for 99 consecutive years. The company has also been named to the Forbes list of “America’s Best Employers” and recognized by Fortune as one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” in the electric and gas utilities industry.  

Before becoming CEO in April 2025, Sideris served as president of Duke Energy, leading the company’s electric and natural gas utilities, including all aspects of operations, customer service and delivery, economic development, regulatory and legislative affairs, and grid and generation strategy. A 29-year veteran of the company, Sideris is a long-standing member of Duke Energy’s senior management committee. His prior leadership roles include executive vice president of customer experience, solutions and services; president of Duke Energy’s utility operations in Florida; and vice president of environmental, health and safety. He began his career at Progress Energy (formerly Carolina Power & Light), prior to the merger with Duke Energy in 2012.  

Sideris currently serves on the boards of directors for the Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and the World Association of Nuclear Operators. He is also a member of the Business Roundtable and Charlotte Executive Leadership Council.  

Sideris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Campbell University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the University of Chicago. Sideris grew up in Asheville, N.C., and now lives in Charlotte. He and his wife, Catinna, have two daughters.
